The function of your lungs is to exchange gases between the air you breathe and your blood. Each lung is divided into lobes. The right lung has three and the left lung has two (to accommodate the heart). Each lung has a bronchial tree which has an intricate network of air passages that supply the lungs with air. The air-filled sacs in the lungs are called alveoli.
